Miley Cyrus won’t be giving up her blonde hair anytime soon.

In a new clip from an appearance on the upcoming “A Toast to 2022!” from NBC! New Year’s special, the 30-year-old singer shared the reaction of Dolly Parton, 76, after she suggested changing her own appearance.

“I’ve never seen Dolly really scared before,” Cyrus told “Today” host Hoda Kotb, 58. “But I said to him, ‘At the end of the year, I really want to do something different. I’m going to dye my hair brunette.’ She acted like I told her the worst news you could imagine. She grabbed her pearls, gasped and came back, and she said, ‘You can’t do this. You’re me.'”

“I’m sort of an extension of Dolly Parton where she looked like she was breaking her the worst news you’ve ever heard. So I’ll be blonde. We’ll either be complementary, match, or completely opposite, because Me and Dolly, she’s like, ‘You are you, I am me and together we have the perfect show.'”

During the interview, Cyrus also talked about turning 20 and her New Year’s resolution for 2023.

“I guess my resolution would be really – my instincts are very strong, but I’m not a great listener sometimes,” Cyrus explained. “Dolly was telling me, her husband (Carl Thomas Dean) said, ‘You’re not hard of hearing. You’re a hard listener.’ And I guess that would be kind of my resolution, not just to listen to myself, but to listen to other people.”

The “Hannah Montana” alum went on to share how she feels now that she’s entered her thirties.

“I always say that my truth, and the opposite of what it is, is also true. Somehow I’m completely different, and then somehow I’m exactly the same “, added Cyrus. “Now in my 30s – I mean my 20s were so much fun. If you don’t believe me, I think you can google it.”

Cyrus’ appearance in “A Toast to 2022!” will precede her second NBC special, “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,” where she will co-host alongside Parton. A line-up of performers – including Sia, Latto and Fletcher – will also help superstars ring in the new year.
